Q:  I was a dependent of my parents vision insurance and I received the letter that said that I could elect to keep my insurance through COBRA. I left the letter at their house a couple weeks ago and I am sure that it has been thrown away. Is there any way that I can still sign up with out it?

A:  You or your parents should request duplicate paperwork from their employer.  If it is with in the 60 days from receiving the initial paperwork, you are still in the election period and would still be eligible for COBRA continuation. The employer will know if their 3rd party COBRA plan administrators allows you to sign up by phone or online.
