Q: My husband has preexisting condition (high blood pressure controlled on 3 meds and overweight). Can COBRA deny coverage? Are there other less expensive COBRA options other than that quoted by my employer?
A: As long as your husband's employer has more than 20 employees they are obligated under COBRA law to offer him continuation of their group health plan. They can not deny him COBRA because of a pre-existing condition.
