Q:  How many hours a month would be considered "reduced hours”? We work in the construction industry and work is always not available do to weather conditions.

A:  Usually group benefits are available to an employee that works a specific number of hours each week.  The amount of hours to be eligible for group benefits can vary based on the employer's group plan requirements.  When you don’t work enough hours to meet the plan’s requirements then you become eligible for COBRA continuation.  If you are interested in an Alternative to COBRA, Click Here for more information.
