Q:  If my wife and I change our legal residence from Massachusetts to Florida, can week keep the same COBRA insurance we have from Massachusetts?  It is currently Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA

A:  If there are more than 20 employees at the job you are leaving, then that employer has to offer you a continuation of the same group health plan you had before the qualifying event occurred.  You should contact your insurance company to see if you can use your coverage when you move outside of your current state. Their should be a phone number on your insurance ID card to call for benefit information.

If you are a healthy person who does not live in NY, NJ, MA, or VT and would be interested in a lower cost Alternative to COBRA please Click Here  With this policy you have the ability to choose your deductible: $250, $500, $1000 or $2500.
