Q: I am pregnant and my husband carries our insurance. He is changing jobs and his new insurance will not start for 90 days. His current employer is in the middle of switching insurance companies because there present company will no longer be offering insurance...do they still have to offer me cobra and if so for how long?

A: Assuming the employer has more than 20 employees, they must offer you COBRA continuation.  If they switch insurance companies then your COBRA coverage will be changed to the new plan.  You can keep COBRA for a up to 18 months.
