Q:I have paid my first premium for dental and vision insurance. I have not received any id cards. I have been suffering with a MASSIVE toothache for a week now and not sure I can make a dental appointment without an id card/ PLEASE help me!
A: Since COBRA is a continuation of your previous employer's group health policy, you will be able to use the same ID cards. The "old" card will be re-activated once your employer or their plan administrator has received your COBRA payment. You can contact your previous employer to see if your COBRA has been activated or you can call your insurance company, the phone number on your ID card.Your dentist will be able to submit the claim to the same insurance company has before.
