Q: My husband recently quit a job to move to another one. Our new insurance plan doesn't start up until May 4th. Can we get COBRA as our insurance until that time?
A: COBRA is a federal law that allows you to continue your group health insurance when an event occurs that causes you to lose your group benefits. Voluntarily leaving your job is a qualifying event. If your employer has more than 20 employees they must offer you COBRA.
