How Do I Start COBRA With Bright HealthCare?

I’m quitting my job in May and need to keep coverage for my insulin. My employer says I can keep my Bright HealthCare after I quit through a COBRA plan. How do I start?

Your employer will send a packet of COBRA continuation information with instructions on how to enroll in your Bright HealthCare plan. You’ll have 60 days to sign up or formerly waive your rights in writing.

Who Is Bright HealthCare?

Bob Sheehy, the former CEO of United Healthcare, co-founded Bright Health with partners Kyle Rolfing and Tom Valdivia, as well as seed investor Flare Capital Partners, after raising $81.5 million in venture capital in 2016.  The company stated that it would concentrate on “consumer-centric” technology that would improve patient experiences through digital interfaces. Bright Health is headquartered in Minneapolis.  In collaboration with Centura Health, it first began offering plans in the state of Colorado, following the announcement of several large insurers withdrawing from the state.
